Advice
Service free of charge
ECC Austria's main task is to inform and assist consumers in case of a crossborder complaint and to create trust into the Internal Market.
Europe-Hotline 0810 - 810 225
This special service allows consumers throughout Austria to get advice via telephone at a rate of max. € 0,0676 per minute. It is available daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for enquiries about problems with a cross-border dimension and for information on various topics. The Europe Hotline ensures quick direct contact with our staff and, in most cases, immediate assistance.
Complaint Handling
In addition to the advice via telephone, one of our key tasks is to provide active support for consumers in asserting their claims in Europe. In order to speed up the casehandling procedure we offer a "Crossborder Complaint Form", which consumers can fill in easily.
The ECC-Net casehandling procedure is free of charge.
Problems when submitting the Crossborder Compliant Form?
Adobe has launched the upgrade of the Acrobat Reader application to the version 9.3 and recently 9.4. The new versions have not all options activated compared to the previous versions. As result the submission of the online complaint PDF form is not straight forward, because an alert box appear when click on the submission button.
Therefore we kindly ask you to use the one of the following workarounds to finalize the submission:
Version 1:
- Open the Adobe Reader
- Edit - Preferences - Security (enhanced)
- Click "Enable Enhanced Security"
- Add Host: www.europakonsument.at
- Click "OK"
- Then the Online -PDF-form can be submitted.
Version 2:
- After clicking on the submission button, an alert box appear to ask to authorise the submission.
- After click on the authorise button, another alert box say that it is not possible to connect to the server.
- Click ok.
- A new bar with yellow buttons is present at the top of the window.
- Click the options button and select "Approve this document".
- Save the form and click the submit button again.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience, but this is outside of our responsibility!
Of course, there is no problem, if you still work with previous versions of Acrobat Reader.
